Labor is Behind Delegate Alfonso Lopez as He Wins the Endorsement of UNITE HERE Local 23

This is his 7th Union Endorsement for 2019

ARLINGTON, Va-- Delegate Alfonso Lopez earns UNITE HERE Local 23 endorsement in his primary for re-election.
Delegate Lopez has stood with UNITE HERE members fighting for a living wage and better working conditions at National and Dulles International Airports and has fought for immigrant workers in Northern Virginia.

"Delegate Alfonso Lopez is a friend of unions and has fought hard for our working families down in the General Assembly and stood with airport workers fighting for a living wage in Northern Virginia," said Bert Bayou, President of the UNITE HERE Local 23 DC Chapter. "It's wonderful to have someone representing us and our shared progressive values in Richmond, and I look forward to his continued efforts to help working families and unions across the Commonwealth receive quality compensation for their work and ensure they are able to continue living in the communities they call home.”

“I am so honored that so many labor unions are behind my campaign for re-election. Labor Union members and working families are the backbone of our community,” said Alfonso. ”I promise to continue our fight in the General Assembly against laws that harm workers and their families, including the Commonwealth’s wrongheaded right-to-work policies.”

UNITE HERE represents over seven thousand food service workers who live and work in Northern Virginia, including many in the 49th House District. They join Arlington Professional Firefighters & Paramedics Association, IBEW Local 26, Keystone Mountain Lake Regional Council of Carpenters, LiUNA! Baltimore/Washington Laborers District Council, SEIU 32BJ, and Virginia Education Association Fund for Children and Public Education in endorsing Del. Alfonso Lopez in his re-election campaign.
