Enroll Virginia and Del. Lopez Sponsor Bilingual Healthcare Enrollment Event at Arlington Mill 

ARLINGTON – Delegate Alfonso Lopez is partnering with Enroll Virginia to host a free Community Health Insurance Enrollment Fair at the Arlington Mill Community Center. The event will be held on Saturday, December 15th, from 10:30 AM to 4:30 PM. This is the last day of open enrollment for plans that provide Marketplace health insurance coverage in 2019.  

Participants in the event will receive help from health insurance navigators and learn more about eligibility for either the Marketplace or Virginia’s new expanded Medicaid coverage for adults aged 19-64.  Each attendee will find out which type of insurance they need, what subsidies they qualify for, and how to purchase health insurance in the online marketplace. Some navigators are fluent in both English and Spanish.  

“For anyone who may have questions about getting health coverage in 2019, this event is a great opportunity to get free in-person assistance from healthcare professionals,” said Delegate Lopez. “Over 5,600 residents of my district will be newly eligible to receive Medicaid coverage next year—if you think you may be eligible for expanded Medicaid coverage or would like more information about the options available in the Marketplace, I encourage you to attend. It’s incredibly important that all of our neighbors have access to comprehensive health coverage that fits their budget and I’m proud to help bring this event to our community for another year.”  

“Our experienced volunteers are trained to help people navigate the health insurance exchange and determine if they belong in the Marketplace or Medicaid. Many consumers find this in-person assistance to be very helpful,” said Susan Nolan, Health Insurance Navigator with Enroll Virginia. “I hope that Virginians who need health insurance coverage for 2019 will call and make an appointment to sign up for this event. We are here to explain and simplify the process so that Virginians can get vitally important health insurance coverage.” 

This event is FREE and open to the public; however, appointments are required. There are a limited number of appointments available. Please call 703-647-4748 for more information and to schedule an appointment.  

WHAT: A free Community Health Insurance Enrollment Fair for residents of Northern Virginia. 

Please make sure to bring the following items with you: 

1. Social Security number for anyone who needs coverage; 

2. Income tax/proof of income and the estimated income for 2019 for every member of the family;

3. Certificate of Citizenship or other immigration documents;

4. Personal email address and password (or heathcare.gov username and password); and

5. ​Employer’s name, address, and phone number.
