The Arlington Education Association endorses Alfonso Lopez for the 49th District of the Virginia House of Delegates. The Arlington Education Association is the local affiliate of the Virginia Education Association and represents teachers and education support personnel throughout Arlington County.
“Alfonso has been working on legislative policy issues for the past 20 years” said Wanda Perkins, President of the Arlington Education Association. “This experience in addition to his intense dedication to education across the Commonwealth will make him an effective advocate and ally in the House of Delegates.”
“I am honored to have the support of the teachers and education support personnel of Arlington County” said Lopez. “This endorsement means a great deal to me and my family. My Mother, Carole Lopez, dedicated her life to the Arlington Public School System working as a teacher and guidance counselor. I hope to continue her legacy of ensuring a quality education for all children in Virginia. I look forward to working with the Arlington Education Association during the General Assembly session and throughout the year to protect and improve education across the Commonwealth.”
