Become a House Page

The Clerk's Office is responsible for the administration of the House Page Program. Students, ages thirteen and fourteen, are nominated by their delegates and given permission by their parents and schools to serve as pages. Once all Pages are appointed by the Speaker of the House of Delegates, the Clerk assumes the responsibilities of administering the program. These responsibilities include securing lodging arrangements, providing study hall tutors, monitoring school progress while working during the session, and managing the daily duties assigned to the pages.

Pages are hired to assist the members of the House of Delegates, the Clerk's Office staff, and other legislative staff in the daily duties required for the operation of the House during the session. These duties include collating bills for members and staff; distributing legislation and legislative documents to members, staff, and their offices; assisting committee clerks in committee meetings; preparing the members' daily calendar books; and performing general office errands.
